Public Utilities Minister Sir Robin Yearwood Says Reducing APUA Fuel Variation Rate Would Lead To Job Cuts At The State-Run APUA

Public Utilities Minister the Hon. Sir Robin Yearwood has responded to the UPP election promise for a lowering of the fuel variation charge by 25 percent.
Sir Robin, an accountant by profession, declares it would destabilize APUA’s operations.

Meanwhile, he says a new term for the ABLP would see savings from greater efficiency at the APUA being passed on to the consumer.
He says this will translate into lower rates for electricity.
