RAINFALL PROJECTIONS LOW FOR THIS YEAR, AGAIN
Meteorologist Dale Destin is forecasting another drier than usual year for Antigua and Barbuda.
Destin predicts rainfall totals for 2022 to most likely be 43.50 inches with a 70 percent or high confidence of them being in the range of 31.93 to 57.60 inches.
Destin says the current cooler than normal sea surface temperatures across the tropical north Atlantic constitute the basis for the forecast.
Destin, who is the acting head of the Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services, says these temperatures should continue into the second half of the year.
The meteorologist believes this year could be one of the top 10 driest in history. He appeals to the populace to conserve water as much as possible.
