RESIDENTS REACT TO PROPOSED INCREASE IN PROPERTY TAX FOR HIGH-END HOMES

The Government’s plans to increase wealthy homeowners’ property taxes has found favour with some residents.
Prime Minister and Finance Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne says the Government proposes to increase the property tax for residential properties valued at 3 million dollars or more, from 0.3% to 0.5%.
During his budget presentation Thursday, the prime minister revealed the government would use the additional revenue for urban renewal and national beautification, including creating and maintaining green spaces.
Several people told ABS News on Friday they support the move.
