SIR RONALD SANDERS RECALLS SPREAD OF FAKE NEWS IN LEAD-UP TO LAST ELECTION

Antigua and Barbuda’s ambassador to the Organisation of American States, Sir Ronald Sanders says misinformation and disinformation was on display in the lead-up to the January 18 general elections in Antigua and Barbuda.
He was addressing the OAS’ permanent council on World Press Freedom Day on Wednesday.
He quoted from the World Press Freedom Index, which warns that the misuse of artificial intelligence is among the factors posing mounting threats to the quality and reputation of journalism.
