Street Signs being Vandalized

Vandalism of community signage is said to be posing a new challenge for emergency services and the police.

A Local Government Representative, Adelza Sheridan speaks of reports of vandalizing of the signs erected under the national street naming project.

Signage to major tourist attractions has also been defaced.

Police PRO, Senior Sergeant, William Holder, calls on the public to report any acts of the signs being defaced, damaged or the removed.

He says the police force condemns the destruction and warns of the consequences.

Local businesses have provided funding for the erection of some of the streets signs. Vandalism is said to posse a blow to the tourism sector and the nation’s economy.
