TAX AUTHORITIES AND BUSINESS LEADERS DISCUSS WINDFALL TAX TO BENEFIT UWI FIC

Commissioner of the Inland Revenue Department Ralph Warner says businesses gladly pay a tax which provides direct funding to the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus.
However, some business operators at a recent tax talk breakfast hosted by the Chamber of Commerce expressed a different view.
The tax on net income of companies in select sectors was recently extended indefinitely by Parliament to provide funding for the fledgling campus.
