Taxi Dispatch System To Be Implemented At Heritage Quay
A taxi dispatch system will be implemented at Heritage Quay during the upcoming cruise tourism winter season.
Usage of the new system will commence October 15th.
President of the Antigua and Barbuda Cruise Tourism Association, Nathan Dundas, says dialogue has been held with representatives of the St. John’s Development Cooperation and the police, on how the harassment of cruise visitors by operators can be curtailed.
Dundas says this issue has caused a lot of embarrassment for the twin island state, with several executives from the major cruise lines complaining about the issue.
He details how the proposed initiative will be coordinated.
The Cruise Tourism President adds that the Police will also play an integral role in ensuring that the system functions effectively.
