The ABLP Picks Up Two Seats In Recent Council Elections Thereby Increasing It’s Majority
The announcement of the results of the Council Elections in Barbuda on Tuesday were met with little celebration in Codrington.
It is clear from the reaction of the two parties in the race…that they were anticipating results that more favoured their position.
Four seats were up for grabs in the election…At the end of it all…the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party secured two seats and the Barbuda People’s Movement the other two. The ABLP majority on the Council is strengthened following the election.
The formal announcement comes from returning officer, John Jarvis.
Newcomer to the political scene, Salim Cephas of the BPM, says while he is disappointed…he is prepared to work with the majority, ABLP.
ABLP candidate, Emrick John, says he plans include attracting more investment to Barbuda.
