The West Indies Oil Company Turns Sod To Begin Work On A Tank Farm
Once again, the government was given reason to celebrate its success in negotiating the West Indies Oil Company into the hands of the people of Antigua and Barbuda.
The occasion was yesterday’s sod-turning ceremony for the expansion of the facility’s tank farm.
CEO of the West Indies Oil Company Gregory Georges says the entity is now positioned to take advantage of major opportunities.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne and Minister of Energy Asot Michael were also among the officials who addressed the gathering. It was another proud boast for the government, which has hailed the ownership of WIOC as one of the most significant achievements for the people of Antigua and Barbuda.
The project will also ensure employment and training opportunities for many Antiguans and Barbudans.
So says Greg Abernathy of Cape Contractors, who won the bid to undertake the construction of the three additional storage tanks.
