THREE CRUISE VESSELS DOCK IN ST. JOHN’S HARBOUR
The recovery of Antigua and Barbuda’s cruise tourism sector from the downturn triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic was given a further fillip on Sunday.
The country welcomed passengers from three cruise vessels on the same day for the first time since the pandemic. The vessels brought an estimated 2,700 passengers. Stakeholders including vendors beamed with delight as the St John’s Harbour teemed with cruise visitors. Tourism Minister Hon. Charles Fernandez attributes the strong recovery in the sector to the country’s adherence to COVID-19 safety protocols as well as the level of vaccination.
