Three Man Delegation To Represent Antigua And Barbuda For The Important Meeting In China
Antigua and Barbuda is sending a three-man delegation to an important meeting in Beijing, China, as that country continues to forge ties with the region.
Foreign Affairs Minister, Hon Charles Max Fernandez, is heading the delegation that will also include Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Ambassador Colin Murdoch and non-resident Ambassador to China, Brian Stuart-Young. He leaves tomorrow.
The occasion is the latest round of the China- CELAC meeting during which China will discuss economic and other assistance to the region. CELAC is a grouping of Latin American and Caribbean States.
China has committed hundreds of billions of dollars to the region in development assistance and soft-loans.
Just last week Antigua and Barbuda signed a two-hundred-and-fifty U-S million dollars soft-loan for the expansion and development of the St John’s harbour and environs.
The Chinese firm that undertaking the project will also carry out a sweep of the harbor starting this month.
