Three of the Nations’ Chef’s to compete in Regional Competition
Three of the nation’s young, aspiring chefs will compete once again in the Smoking Grill Barbeque Competition in Puerto Rico February 23 and 24.
Chef Christopher Terry explains how he chose his team.
Antigua and Barbuda will receive further promotion with the addition of a model who will display costumes under the theme “Carnival” for the showmanship segment.
On Saturday the team will display their culinary skills with an 80 pound whole pig in mohito with a marinade recipe using English Harbour five year old rum..
Terry speaks of other dishes as well as Sunday’s competition.
On Sunday Terry and Rochelle Anthony will be the youngest team competing in the professional chef category black box competition where chefs create a dish with ingredients presented in the box.
The team, which won gold in showmanship in 2012, placed 4th in poultry in 2013 and 9th overall, hopes to bring home gold in showmanship with their Johnny cakes and salt fish.
