Montserratians Mark 20 Years Since The Eruption Of the Soufriere Hills Volcano

The Soufriere Hills volcano in Montserrat began erupting in 1995, but on this day June 25 ….18 years ago……19 people were killed in the most violent eruption.

Today as the island looked back on this pivotal moment in history…the year 1997…the eruption altered livelihood on the Emerald isle was celebrated under the theme “Love and Reflection”.
