The MP for St. John’s Rural East and former Prime Minister Sir Lester Bird has set the record straight regarding his previous commercial interest in Aggregates company.
He told the House of Representatives that he, Hugh Marshall and Sir Robin Yearwood were shareholders in an Aggregates Company but the sand mining industry was started before that.
Sir Lester in making an open declaration said he has no apologies for having bought shares with the company that was about to collapse. He noted that the purchase was in the best interest of the residents of Barbuda.
Sir Lester is threatening to go to court to bring a case against the newspaper and those who claim that his involvement in the company was unlawful.
