A person close to the matter involving the Haitian students, who has asked to remain anonymous, is rebutting the claims made by Louise John.

The source says Haitian students are required to maintain a 2.5 GPA and that all 10 students excelled and surpassed with a 3.0 GPA or higher and adds that there were no complaints from the Antigua Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute (ABHTI) or any of the businesses at which the students interned.

The students, the source indicates, also knows Pastor Gerald La Fleur since he went to the school to meet them and has also interacted with them at their home.

The source notes that although being in Antigua and Barbuda for only a year, living in deplorable conditions with10 persons in a three bedroom house, and receiving a meager stipend, the students had integrated themselves into society becoming members of the Red Cross, playing on a football team and playing pan, among other activities.

Regarding the appraisals, the source says they were very vague and that the document signed did constrict the students to silence or be pursued for US$10,000.00.

According to the source, the students had no time for closure as they were informed last Friday that they were scheduled to leave on the Sunday.
