26-Year-Old Piggotts Man Charged with Firearm and Ammunition Offences

The police have arrested and charged 26-year-old Ka-desh Hodge of Piggots with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition following a police operation at Villa.

On Sunday, August 23, officers from the Criminal Investigations Department Task Force, St. John’s Police Station, Freetown Police Station, Special Services Unit, and Narcotics Department were conducting an operation in the Villa area.

The officers stopped and searched a motor truck driven by Hodge and found a black crossbody bag containing a firearm, a magazine, and several rounds of ammunition.

The firearm and ammunition were seized, and Hodge was arrested and taken into custody at the St. John’s Police Station.

He has now been formally charged with Unlawful Possession of one Browning .25 semi-automatic pistol and Unlawful Possession of seven rounds of ammunition.

He is expected to appear before the court on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
