ANTIGUA ON SHOW TO THE WORLD AS WENDY DEBUTS
Antigua and Barbuda will be on show to global audiences in coming weeks on the big screen…
The Searchlight Pictures film “Wendy” opens in New York and Los Angeles today.
It is getting a limited release for now, but is expected to be rolled out over the next three to four weeks across North America.
Antiguans are keeping a close watch on the film since one of the stars of “Wendy” Yashwa Mack hails from the Nyabinghi community right here in Antigua.
Film Commissioner Burt Kirchner says Antiguans and Barbudans should be proud of the film since it was shot here on island by Antiguans and tells movie lovers what they can expect when they see Wendy.
Kirchner played the role of a producer on this film and says iconic sights of Antigua make up a huge part of the film.
Kirchner says the goal will be to get the film here at the island’s lone cinema.
There is a special premiere of the movie at the Hodges Bay Club here in Antigua on the 14th of March by invitation only.
