REGISTRATION BEGINS FOR LIVESTOCK FARMERS
Registration of livestock farmers began today.
The Veterinary and Livestock Division is registering farmers to create a database which will include farmers’ locations and the animals they own.
Veterinary Officer Dr. Nneka (Nay-ka) Hull- James says the registration will have multiple benefits.
Dr. Hull- James says commercial farmers are also required to register by law.
Registration will take place in three stages. First, the collection of farmers’ personal and agricultural data.
Then veterinary officers will assess whether farmers meet criteria for identification cards.
