MAN HOSPITALIZED AFTER BEING SHOT ON LOWER NEWGATE STREET

A man is now nursing a gunshot wound in hospital following another brazen daylight attack in the capital. Oswald Matthison was shot once in the lower abdomen as a lone gunman entered his home on Lower Newgate Street shortly after midday on Thursday. An alleged eyewitness tells ABS News the assailant walked calmly from the house after the incident and rode off on a bicycle.

Matthison was rushed to hospital by a police team which arrived on the scene. The motive for the shooting is not immediately known as it is unclear if anything was stolen from the house. More details during the ABS Evening News.
