OPPOSITION LEADER SUPPORTS TRANSITION TO REPUBLIC
Opposition Leader Hon. Jamale Pringle says he agrees with calls for Antigua and Barbuda to transition to a republic.
He made the comments on Monday after signing the book of condolences at Government House for the late Queen Elizabeth II.
The Queen died last Thursday aged 96.
She had been Antigua and Barbuda’s head of state since independence in 1981.
The Leader of His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition however endorses calls for a change from a constitutional monarchy to having a president as head of state.
