DIGICEL AMONG PRIVATE SECTOR ENTITIES AFFECTED BY RECENT CYBER ATTACK

Telecoms provider Digicel is the latest entity to have been affected by a recent cyber attack which resulted in a distributed denial of service.
Communications Technology Minister the Hon. Melford Nicholas provided the update during this week’s post cabinet media briefing.
He said Digicel appears to been affected as a follow-on from the initial attack in which private sector businesses, including banks, were targeted.
Minister Nicholas told journalists he was not aware any payment was made to those behind the cyber attack.
