PM BROWNE AWARDED AS CHAMPION AGAINST SEA LEVEL RISE

Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne is has received a prestigious award on the international stage for his climate change advocacy.
The head of Government has been recognized as a Champion against Sea Level Rise at the COP28 Climate Summit in Dubai.
In an address at a high-level panel, Prime Minister Browne highlighted the critical need to safeguard island nations from the imminent threat of climate change.
With top officials and experts in attendance at the recent event in the United Arab Emirates, PM Browne made an impassioned plea for global unity in the face of rising sea levels.
Prime Minister Browne has been a leading voice on the international stage on this issue. He has co-founded a commission alongside Tuvalu’s prime minister, which is seeking an advisory opinion on the responsibility of states to protect the world’s oceans. The Commission on Small Island States on climate change and international law, COSIS, has since been joined by other Caribbean and South Pacific states.
That claim is now before the International Tribunal on the Law of the Seas, ITLOS.
