Country Records 1st Road Fatality

Police-Line-Tape-Do-Not-Cross-psd66The country has recorded its first road fatality for the year.

Dead is 32 year old pedestrian Andrea Hughes of Cedar Grove following an accident which took place around 9.30 last night at Whetherwills Road, which leads to Cedar Grove.

Lawmen said the vehicle, registration number A5386 was driven by owner, Mark Ryan of Crosbies.

Police say “the allegations are that the motor jeep was travelling from East to West on Wetherwills Main Road when it suddenly came into contact Hughes.”

She was rushed to the Mount St John’s Medical Centre, but was pronounced dead about 12.30am.
