CABINET CONSIDERS REQUEST FOR RETURN OF THE NAME BOGGY PEAK FOR HIGHEST POINT
Cabinet says a request has been made to have the name of the country’s highest peak revert to Boggy Peak, instead of Mount Obama.
The name was changed in 2008 in honour of Barack Obama, the first black president of the United States. Chief of Staff in the Prime Minister’s Office, Ambassador Lionel Hurst told journalists at Thursday’s post cabinet media briefing about the history attached to what is the highest point of the Sherkeley Mountain Range.
