WATER RELIEF EXPECTED FOR THOUSANDS OF APUA CUSTOMERS AS NEW RO PLANT BEGINS PRODUCTION
An additional one million gallons of water per day is now being produced from Ffryes Beach, as the new reverse osmosis plant installed by Florida-based Seven Seas Water Group is now online.
The Antigua Public Utilities Authority says several communities will now have improved water supply.
The plant has been established on a 12-year Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) arrangement between the Government and Seven Seas.
This means the company will supply water the APUA from the plant over the 12-year period and recoup its investment, at which point the APUA will take ownership of the plant.
