Oszie Kelvin Russell, better known as ‘Mongoose’ will spend the next three and a half years at His Majesty’s Prison, after being sentenced this morning for Illegal Possession of firearm, ammunition and a silencer. He has been sentenced to 3 years and 6 months and 5 days for possession of a Glock-80 pistol, one year for 10 rounds of ammunition and one year for a suppressor or silencer. The sentences are to run concurrently.
The sentence was handed down in the District B Magistrate’s Court this morning by Senior Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel.
The conviction follows a police raid at Russell’s Lightfoot home around 6:55 Tuesday morning.
Investigators say, during the operation, they shouted “Police!”, and Russell hurled the pistol out of his bedroom window.
The weapon and ammunition were later recovered, along with THE firearm suppressor that was found on a dressing table.
The 40-year-old tattoo artist reportedly told police he was “working on” getting a firearm licence.
