POSTAL SERVICE HALTS SMALL PACKAGE SHIPMENTS TO THE U.S. AMID NEW TARIFF RULES
Antigua and Barbuda has joined a growing list of countries around the world in suspending shipments of packages to the United States, as Washington imposes new requirements as of Friday, August 29.
The move comes amid a decision by the Trump administration to suspend its longstanding tariff exemption for low-value imports, known as the “de minimis” rule, which allowed packages under US$800 to enter duty-free.
The new regulations also introduce complex processing requirements, which have not yet been clarified by US authorities.
