PM BROWNE SCOLDS SHERFIELD BOWEN OVER CLAIMS ON FISCAL BALANCE AND DEBT

Prime Minister and Finance Minister Hon. Gaston Browne has rebutted claims made by opposition MP for St Phillip’s South, Hon. Sherfield Bowen about certain numbers in the budget.

Bowen had claimed the projections for a primary surplus and overall fiscal surplus are actually deficits.

However, Prime Minister Browne has explained in detail how these balances are calculated, as he chided MP Bowen for trying to score cheap political points.

The prime minister also says the opposition MP’s claims have sought to impugn the integrity of top finance ministry officials, including Financial Secretary, Rasona Davis Crump.
