HUNDREDS OF ENTHUSED STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN WARRI REVIVAL INITIATIVE
Over 500 students across Antigua and Barbuda have participated in the ongoing Warri Revival Programme. The programme was launched last year, at which time about six students were taught the art form under the guidance of International Warri Grandmaster Trevor Simon and his team.
Simon tells ABS News the programme has long since met its target of introducing the game to students and other members of the community.
Given the overwhelming interest demonstrated by the students, Simon is hopeful Warri will become a permanent fixture in schools across the country.
The Warri Revival Programme is funded by the UNESCO ICH Fund and is being facilitated by the Antigua Barbuda Warri Academy. Cultural Advisor Dr. Hazra Medica is leading the programme.
