ABST REDUCTION IN TIME FOR BACK TO SCHOOL

Director General of Communications, Maurice Merchant, has hinted the reduction of the Antigua Barbuda Sales Tax (ABST) will come before September.  He told media at Thursday’s Post Cabinet Media Briefing, Cabinet Ministers were considering ‘easing the squeeze’ at a time when parents would conduct their back-to-school shopping ahead of the new academic year.  

Cabinet had announced recently the reduction from 17% to 7% between the 2^nd and 3^rd quarters this year to help stave off the impacts of inflation.
