PM BROWNE OPTIMISTIC ON CLICO-BAICO PAYOUT DEAL AFTER TALKS WITH T&T PM

Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne is confident a resolution will be reached on Trinidad and Tobago’s outstanding payment to former policyholders of CLICO and BAICO in Antigua and Barbuda and the rest of the OECS.

Port-of-Spain has already paid 40 per cent of an agreed US$100 million compensation package, following the collapse of the entities nearly two decades ago.

Prime Minister Browne discussed the issue in bilateral talks with his Trinidad and Tobago counterpart, Kamla Persad Bissessar in St Kitts this week.
