Accused in Chantel Crump’s Murder to Stand Trial in The High Court
The case against Angela Mejia, the woman accused of killing 9-year-old Chantel Crump, has been committed to the High Court. The committal proceedings were completed in the Magistrate’s Court on Monday, following several delays.
Prosecutors had previously been given an ultimatum to proceed with the case, or risk having it being thrown out.
Mejia has been in custody since last March, after the grim discovery of Crump’s body in bushes. She had been reported missing three days earlier, after being seen entering a car on her way from school.
