ABLP DEMANDS PUBLIC APOLOGY FROM UPP OVER ERRONEOUS WEBSITE CLAIM
The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party is demanding an apology from the United Progressive Party, after the UPP’s official campaign website falsely declared that Sir Robin Yearwood had died in office.
The erroneous statement appears on the UPP’s campaign website, myupp.org, under the St Philip North constituency page.
The ABLP says the site was built and populated using artificial intelligence tools, and that the false claim appears to be AI-generated content published without human verification.
The party says the error is part of a pattern of serious mistakes on the site, including planning instructions left visible on the homepage, candidates listed in the wrong constituencies, and a fabricated phone number in the party’s contact details.
The ABLP’s public relations officer, Angelica O’Donoghue says this was deeply irresponsible and the UPP must ensure appropriate redress.
