PARLIAMENT TO DEBATE FUTURE OF CIP AS EXTERNAL PRESSURE MOUNTS
Parliamentarians are to debate the future of the Citizenship by Investment Programme, as the programmes in the Eastern Caribbean face intense pressure from the United States and European Commission.
Prime Minister the Right Honourable Gaston Browne says Antigua and Barbuda may have to reconsider the future of its Citizenship by Investment Programme, if doing so becomes necessary to preserve visa access to the United States and Europe’s Schengen area.
He says discussions with US officials have focused on restrictions affecting the issuance of new visas to Antiguan and Barbudan nationals.
