Government To Sign An Agreement For Port Expansion
Port officials will this week sign another agreement for contractors to proceed with highly anticipated work on the facility.
In an interview with ABS News, Port Manager, Darwin Telemaque says the signing of the “contract for works” is necessary for this work to commence.
He also gives details on the company that the government will be working along with.
The Port Boss says contractors and some heavy duty equipment are expected to arrive on island in approximately 15 days.
This agreement follows government’s signing of a deal in December with the Export/Import Bank of China for a loan of 255 Million United States Dollars, to fund the Sweeping Works of St. John’s Harbour and the St. John’s Modernization Project.
