A New Building To House The Care Project Moves Closer To Reality

Government is a few steps away from breaking ground for construction of a new facility to house The Care Project.

Minister of Health the Hon. Molwyn Joseph says first, there are a few details to be settled.

The Care Project provides a home for a number of children with severe mental and physical disabilities – some of whom have been relocated from the now defunct Amazing Grace Home.

Others have just been abandoned by their families. The programme operates out of what was once the pediatric ward of the old Holberton Hospital.

Residents at the facility suffer from a range of illnesses and conditions including Cerebral Palsy, Autism, blindness, seizures and neurological diseases.

Although the Care Project is primarily a home for children the residents range in age from 8-48.

The site for the new facility is said to be on the plot of land adjacent to the Fiennes institute.
