A&B PARTICIPATES IN TALKS ON TECH-DRIVEN IMPROVEMENTS TO PARLIAMENTARY PRACTICE

Antigua and Barbuda is contributing to regional discussions on how artificial intelligence and digital technology can be used to modernize the operations of Parliament. 

This was the focus of a two-day regional workshop which concluded in Miami, Florida on Sunday.

Government Senator Angelica O’Donoghue and Deputy Clerk to Parliament Ondell Constant have represented the country at the Caribbean Regional Workshop, under the theme, “Applying AI and Digital Solutions to Modernize Parliamentary Practice.”

Senator O’Donoghue says a major component of the workshop is ParlLink — an AI-powered platform designed to digitize and organize parliamentary records, including bills, Hansards and minutes.

ParlLink is designed to make decades of parliamentary records searchable, while allowing parliaments to retain ownership of their data.

O’Donoghue says the initiative also fits into the government’s broader digital transformation agenda.
