‘ALARMING’ RISE OF BREAST CANCER CASES IN ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA

Medical oncologist at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, Dr Hanybal Yazigi, says breast cancer cases recorded at the hospital have surpassed the total recorded for all of 2025.

He calls the increase alarming and has urged women to ensure they engage in regular breast self-examinations and screenings.

Dr Yazigi was a guest on a special edition of ABS’ House Calls on Tuesday, as October is being observed as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
