APUA Co-operative Credit Union Staff Stage Sit-In
Employees at the APUA Cooperative Credit Union staged a sit-in early Monday.
The staff cited various concerns which led to the industrial action. When our news team reached out to Office Manager, Melissa Southwell, she indicated she had ‘no comment’ and cut off communication. It should be noted, the Credit Union is not managed by the APUA Management Team. Rather, employees of the Authority are shareholders of the Union, and the Union is managed by a separate Board of Directors.
It was just over a year ago, the first Collective Agreement between management and the Antigua and Barbuda Workers’ Union (ABWU), which represents the employees, was signed.
