APUA LAYS PIPES WITHOUT NEED FOR EXTENSIVE ROAD EXCAVATION

The Antigua Public Utilities Authority has deployed ground-breaking pipe-laying technology in its expansive re-piping project in St John’s.

Horizontal Directional Drilling allows water pipes of various sizes to be laid without the need for extensive excavation of the surface of the surface of the road.

The technology is allowing the utility to modernize its distribution network in the city, which will allow for improved water supply in coming months.

Crews from Trinidad-based TrinWeld Contracting Services have been carrying out the work seamlessly at nights into early mornings, further minimizing disruptions to traffic flow and commerce.
