Commonwealth Observers Arrive
Commonwealth Election Observers have joined their Caricom counterparts here on island.
Having been invited by Prime Minister Gaston Browne earlier this month, the team has already commenced its work ahead of the 2026 general elections. They will remain for the duration of their mandate. The group will assess the pre-election environment, polling day activities, and the post-election period, taking into account relevant national law, Commonwealth values, and international standards. The group is being led by hon. Dr Pelonomi Venson, former Minister for Foreign Affairs of Botswana.
