PM BROWNE SAYS NATIONAL SECURITY A KEY ELEMENT OF TCN TALKS WITH THE US

Prime Minister the Right Honourable Gaston Browne has reiterated his administration will not give the greenlight for the United States to include criminals in the Third-Country Nationals (TCN) arrangement now being discussed.

Prime Minister Browne tells ABS News he cannot countenance the national security threat this would pose to Antigua and Barbuda.

Prime Minister Browne says his administration is seeking to protect the national interests of Antigua and Barbuda, while cooperating with the United States.

Antigua and Barbuda, like several other Caribbean states, has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with the US to accept third-country nationals.

These are individuals whom the US says it is unable to deport to their respective countries of origin, for various reasons.
