Four members of the Rastafari community arrested after last Thursday’s major cannabis seizure in Pares Village have each been granted half-a-million dollars bail.

Rodwell McCurdy of Pares Village, Vincent Isaac of All Saints, Garry Creighton of Cassada Gardens, and Javen Ryner of Cashew Hill made their first court appearance before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel Monday morning.

They are facing joint charges linked to about 152 pounds of cannabis and more than 1,100 pounds of cannabis plants, with investigators valuing the seizure at about $3.5 million.

Each man must pay $50,000 cash, provide two sureties, surrender his passport, report to Parham Police Station three times weekly, and avoid contact with potential witnesses.

The matter is adjourned to August 26 for the start of committal proceedings.
