‘I FEEL AS IF WE WILL HAVE AN AGREEMENT VERY SOON’ – PM BROWNE ON TCN TALKS WITH US
Prime Minister the Right Honourable Gaston Browne is hopeful an agreement will soon be reached with the United States for Antigua and Barbuda to accept third-country nationals.
He said Antigua and Barbuda is willing to show some flexibility on the numbers it proposes to accept from the United States, noting the number could inch up from 10 to 14 per year.
However, the prime minister insists the country will stand firm on its position not to accept criminal elements.
He was speaking at a US Embassy reception at Jumby Bay Tuesday evening to celebrate the country’s upcoming 250th anniversary of independence.
Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Barbados, Karin Sullivan, was in attendance at the event.
