Justice Renée Williams Recuses Himself from J.Stoll Versus GBC

Justice Renee Williams has recused himself from the case between businessman Jack Stroll and the Global Bank of Commerce just as the matter appeared close to a final outcome.

Justice Williams told counsel for both parties that he was recusing himself due to personal reasons but no detail was given for the decision.

The case has now been reassigned to Justice Birnie Stephenson. The matter has been adjourned to July 23, as the new judge gets up to speed.

The court has also ordered a full timeline of the case and indicated that no new applications will be filed for now, as it decides the next steps.
