PAHO DIRECTOR COMMENDS SIR MOLWYN JOSEPH ON STRIDES IN TACKLING CERVICAL CANCER

Director of the Pan American Health Organisation, Dr Jarbas Barbosa has congratulated Health Minister, Hon. Sir Molwyn Joseph for the efforts made to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health problem in Antigua and Barbuda, within 10 years.
A release from the Health Ministry says Dr Barbosa congratulated Sir Molwyn for his leadership and the successful completion of the pilot for the national cervical HPV testing programme.
The PAHO director has also pledged to continue providing technical assistance to successfully expand the programme.
Antigua and Barbuda is the first country in the Caribbean to implement this programme.
Dr Barbosa met with Sir Molwyn on Monday, during the 76th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland.
