PM Browne Meets with Restive Public Works Employees 

Prime Minister and Finance Minister, the Right Honourable Gaston Browne, has been addressing employees at the Ministry of Public Works, who staged a protest outside his office on Tuesday morning.

The protest started at the Public Works Ministry’s offices over outstanding overtime pay and salaries, before the restive workers moved on to the Prime Minister’s Office. Some who are on contracts are also concerned about their employment status.

A senior official of the Ministry of Public Works had earlier asked the workers to exercise patience as the vexing issues would be resolved between this Friday and next week.

The Works Ministry has since issued a statement, assuring that its management is fully engaged in completing the processing of outstanding payments.
