PRIME MINISTER’S VISION INITIATIVE TO PROVIDE THOUSANDS OF READING GLASSES

Thousands of residents are to receive reading glasses free of charge, as the Prime Minister’s Vision Initiative has been officially launched.

The programme is a major partnership, aimed at expanding access to eye care services and eyeglasses across the twin-island state.

The initiative brings together the government, cure blindness project, VisionSpring, and RestoringVision, with 25,000 pairs of reading glasses to be distributed over the next few months.

The initiative was launched at the community centre at Villa Polyclinic on Thursday.
