SIR RONALD SANDERS RECEIVES MAJOR UKRAINIAN HONOUR

Antigua and Barbuda’s ambassador to the United States and permanent representative to the Orghanisation of American States, Sir Ronald Sanders, has received one of Ukraine’s national honours for his defence of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Sir Ronald was presented with the Order of Merit at the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington D.C. on Monday.

The award recognises his diplomatic advocacy at the OAS, including efforts to mobilise support for resolutions condemning Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Sir Ronald shares the honour with the Government of Antigua and Barbuda, saying its support for Ukraine reflects principles essential to the country’s own independence.

However, Sir Ronald says the principle at stake goes beyond Ukraine and applies equally to every nation, regardless of its size or power.
