Sir Steadroy Benjamin Sworn in As Attorney General

Sir Steadroy Benjamin has taken the oaths of office, allegiance and secrecy as Attorney General and Minister for Legal Affairs, Public Safety, Immigration and Labour.

He received his instrument of appointment from Governor General His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams at Government House on Friday, following his eighth straight victory in St John’s City South.

The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party secured a landslide 15-2 victory in Thursday’s general elections.

Sir Steadroy tells ABS News one of his priorities will be the country’s accession to the appellate jurisdiction of the Caribbean Court of Justice, CCJ.
